Great flick and proof positive that SF flicks can be made without crap dialogue and characters that behave in unrealistic ways. The real special effect in any movie is characters and writing. Serenity has that in spades. Did some of SFX come off as weak – yep. But you know what? I’ll take the occasional weak SFX shot any day over a technically brilliant film filled with cardboard characters spewing puerile dialogue.
I can only hope that Serenity does well enough to warrant a sequel.
